It's true. I finally bought a new camera. Aaron's first birthday marked the last day with my old camera- it was stolen, and I've been saving, thinking, wondering, forgetting, and using my iPhone (yes every picture from this blog from August till now has been taken on my iPhone. shameful.). Enough is enough. Besides, I had the opportunity to buy a friend's entry level Canon Rebel, which seemed like a good enough reason to take the plunge.
It's been a lot fun figuring f-stops and apertures and ISO out... It's still a mess in my brain and I have yet to really make good use of all that info, but I'm a-learnin'.
And I'm now researching what kind of lenses I need to buy!
Here are two of my favorite, so far, pictures, taken on Day 1, before reading anything about how to use my camera. But, I love them.

What I love about Aaron's picture is the way his eyes look. He has such beautiful eyes. And do you see the chocolate ring around his mouth and the baby snot coming from his nose? Nothing sums up toddler-hood like snot and drool!
(I think you could CSI this picture and see the reflection of me in his eyes. Kinda creepy.)

I love the light reflecting off of Liam's eyelashes. You also need to note that Liam rubbed lotion into his hair this morning. He told me that his hair was sticking out. Um. Good job solving your problems, buddy.
