The tree is now trimmed

It took us a week, but eventually we were able to find the time to trim the tree. It looks lovely, and I never grow weary of looking at and remembering the ornaments that we have. Ever since we were married, I have tried to purchase an ornament, or make something into an ornament, when we traveled or when there was a momentous occasion. Because of this, every year, trimming the tree is like opening up a scrapbook of all the best parts of your life: marriage, vacation, babies, first Christmases, playing the bells at the Christmas program, teaching, friends, and family. One of our family traditions is also to go out and have the kids pick out their very own Christmas ornament. I write on the bottom with a thin sharpie the name and date so that eventually my kids can take these ornaments with them to their own homes. This year Liam chose a Cars ornament and (Mommy {might have} helped) Aaron picked a "love you to the moon and back" ornament from the story Guess How Much I Love You.

When the kiddos woke up from nap they came downstairs to a twinkling tree full of our ornaments. We got Liam's reaction on video, and still shots of Aaron, which is why Liam isn't represented in these pictures.
