a little bit of pixie dust

An all time favorite story of mine is Peter Pan, by James M. Barrie. I've always been fascinated by this tale of a childhood frozen in time, of pirates and mermaids, and flying. Yes, there is that flying. I read the story to Liam this summer and when it was over, you should have seen the excitement on his face when he learned there was a movie about Peter and Tinker Bell. It was only natural that he pick this for this year's costume. The silly Mommy that I am likes to have a family costume and this one was easy.
We suggested to Nora that Tinker Bell might be fun, and she, of course was excited. What little girl doesn't want a pair of fairy wings?
Daddy was Captain Hook (his costume was awesome!), Aaron is the Crocodile ("tick-tock!"), and I was Wendy Lady.
We had so much fun, and everything but Aaron's costume and Ryan's wig/hat were from GoodWill and fancied up by your's truly.
If you could only have seen Aaron waddle around with his big crocodile behind. It was pretty adorable.
Peter LOVES his dagger. Papa made it for him and it is now out of his possession only during bedtime and when mommy confiscates it because someone or something is getting hit with hit.

The crocodile and Peter Pan. I can't tell you how much I love these two boys. I just wanna eat them up!
Peter and Tink.
Liam and Nora.
The relationship is pretty parallel.
The Mommies *might* have staged this shot-
but there was no way we could have predicted this expression:

It's official. We went trick-or-treating at a few houses down the block. We practiced trick-or-treating etiquette in the car this morning, not wanting to be "that" kid, the one that snatches up the candy and turns away without a thank you. I think Liam did alright.
Even Aaron wanted to get in on the action. He pretends he is a big boy all of the time, and this was no exception. He strode up the walkway, both arms swinging, like he had done this a thousand times before.
By the end of the block Liam knew exactly what to do. Look for a house with the porch light on, walk up the steps (without Mommy or Daddy!), ring the door bell, and remember to say Thank You when you got candy.

You all look so wonderful. I love your Wendy lady and Captain Hook costumes. And the children. Oh, they look so precious! I saw a child with that crocodile costume on and that little tale wag was so adorable. Great job mama Wendy lady.
