Liam and his Paci

Liam has been a pacifier lover since birth.

From about 1 year on he only had his paci during nap or bedtime.

Now that he is 3 he is done with his paci.

In celebration Liam bought a "paci bear" from Build-a-Bear. He spent a long time walking up and down the row trying to decide which animal was going to be his. He picked up a few different ones, but in a line-up, always chose this little guy. I think he made a great decision. Notice that Liam is holding his very favorite paci in his hand, the one with the taxi design, which was Liam's preferred sleeping pacifier. Once his bear was filled with stuffing to his specifications (Liam likes his stuffed animals a little squishy) he put his paci inside. He also put the heart inside, which Liam informed me, was filled with the "joy of the Lord." Cute.

I also would like you to notice the face of apprehension on my little man. He knew exactly what this paci bear meant, and even though he initiated it (I was going to wait until my summer began) he was feeling a bit sad.

I also want you to know that I {might have} shed a tear when Liam put the pacifier inside his bear. Every milestone he reaches puts him one more step away from being my baby.

Bear gets a bath. Liam talked about this at home while he was in the bathtub. He thought it was funny that there was no soap or water.

It's love already.
Liam's bear's name is Tait.
After Liam's buddy Tate, who is in 5th, excuse me, 6th grade. Tate has a yo-yo which means that Tait needs one too.

Bedtime- our first time sleeping without a pacifier. Ever.

Update: Liam did pretty well, considering. No crying, but a lot of singing. Liam told me the next morning that when he had a pacifier he couldn't sing because it was in his mouth, but now he can sing. He eventually fell asleep around 9:20 (2 hours post bedtime.) Naps have been a little trickier, but still no crying. Maybe there has been a little bribing on Mommy's part. Maybe not.
