Some of the parks in our city have water features, play areas that kids can run through water and splash around. Liam LOVES these, he squeals when he gets near them, and kicks around with all the big kids. It is pretty funny to watch him chase circles around the sprinklers. The sand is next door, however, and sand + water = a gigantic mess! At one point he was on his belly in the sand, doing a breast stroke with his hands in the sand. He was feeling the grains with his fingers. All I could do was shake my head, laugh, and be proud of myself that I am letting my little boy get so filthy dirty, because he loves it, and just because it makes me cringe doesn't mean I shouldn't let him play. We came prepared with the right shoes and clothes so it just doesn't matter. I wish I could show you the before and after pictures, because he was muddy from head to toe, but, alas, no camera for now!
